On Friday, April
07, 2017, the Eureka Moose Lodge held an event for first responders which
several local fire and law enforcement agencies attended. The Lodge raised
$10,000 that was distributed between the agencies. The Humboldt County
Sheriff’s Office Animal Shelter was presented with a $2,000 check that will be
put towards the Shelter’s Emergency Medical Fund (EMF). The EMF is used to pay
for medical costs associated with animals who require special and/or emergency
care beyond the standard care every animal is afforded at the Shelter.
The
Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Moose Lodge along with
the public for their generous donation.
