On Aug. 22, 2024 at about 8 p.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 76 Gas Station on Central Ave. in McKinleyville for the report of a robbery.

A gas station employee reported to the responding deputies that the suspect entered the business and demanded cash from the register. The suspect told the employee that he was armed, however no weapons were seen. The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash prior to the employee calling for help. Deputies searched the surrounding area for the suspect, and they were unable to locate him.  

The suspect is described as a 6’2” white male adult, last seen wearing a dark gray hoodie, green camo shirt, brown or black leather boots, and a dark blue mask.               

This case is still under investigation.
