On June 8, 2022, at about 7:50 p.m., a Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputy on patrol in the Samoa area conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that did not have a visible license plate.

Upon further investigation, deputies learned that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Arcata. The drive of the vehicle, 26-year-old Jesus Armando Camacho-Rubio, was taken into custody without incident. A passenger of the vehicle was detained and released at the scene.

Camacho-Rubio was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle (PC 496d(a)).
