On April 25, 2021, at about 8:59 p.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies on patrol in the Hoopa area observed a reported stolen vehicle traveling on Pine Creek Road.

Deputies pursued the vehicle for several miles, and eventually on to Bald Hills Road. California Highway Patrol Officers responded to assist with the pursuit, successfully deploying a spike strip and disabling the vehicle on Bald Hills Road near Lady Bird Johnson Grove. The driver of the vehicle fled on foot south into a heavily wooded area. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

The suspect is only described as a light skinned male with light facial hair, possibly wearing a purple shirt. Motorists in the area are asked to use caution and contact law enforcement if you see the suspect in the area.

This case is still under investigation.
