The Susie Baker Fountain Papers
Susie Baker Fountain, (1892-1968) was a local historian and in the latter portion of her life, a columnist for the Blue Lake Advocate.
Fountain kept an enormous set of clipping files and notes on Humboldt County and the surrounding area. Her files cover people, places, and local news from 1850-1966.
Copies of these files are found as 119 bound volumes at Humboldt County Library in Eureka California. Microfilm copies are also available here and at Cal Poly Humboldt's Library, as well as in the California State Library in Sacramento.
An extensive index to the papers was created by library volunteer Ruth Brink. It is available as a card file at Humboldt County Library and as microfiche at the libraries mentioned above.
