Samoa Wastewater Planning Project

This project is funded through a planning grant from the State Water Resources Control Board and is intended to evaluate a consolidated wastewater system to serve the Samoa Peninsula and amendments to the Humboldt Bay Area Plan to allow the project to proceed. Humboldt County selected a engineering team comprised of GHD and SHN to lead this project.

Board of Supervisors Hearing

The Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 to consider proposed amendments to the Humboldt Bay Area Plan and Coastal Zoning Regulations (Local Coastal Program, or LCP, Amendment) to allow the Samoa Peninsula Wastewater Project to proceed. The Board approved the proposed LCP Amendment, which will now be forwarded to the Coastal Commission for certification.

Planning Commission Hearing

The Planning Commission met on Thursday, January 7, 2021 to hold a public hearing to consider proposed amendments to the Humboldt Bay Area Plan and Coastal Zoning Regulations to allow the Samoa Peninsula Wastewater Project to proceed.
