Elections News and Results Posted on August 11, 2025

The Humboldt County Office of Elections is excited to invite the community to celebrate its "I Voted" Sticker Contest winners at the Humboldt County Fair on Saturday, Aug. 16 at 1:30 p.m.

Two winners will be announced whose designs will serve as the county’s official "I Voted" stickers, making them a lasting symbol of civic participation in Humboldt County.

Background

Humboldt County’s “I Voted” Sticker Contest invited youth and adult artists to create sticker designs that celebrated voting and showcased the county’s unique natural environment. The winning youth and adult designs will be featured in vote-by-mail ballots through 2027.

Submissions were accepted April 23 through June 3, then finalists were announced, and members of the public had the opportunity to vote for their favorite submissions up until Aug. 1. Residents participated in the voting process at a variety of community events, including Eureka’s Friday Night Markets, Fourth of July celebrations in both Eureka and Arcata and Big Foot Daze in Willow Creek. The Humboldt County Office of Elections received an enthusiastic response from the community, with more than 2,000 votes cast.

"Two thousand votes! The community really stepped up to celebrate both democracy and the amazing artists in our community," said Humboldt County Clerk-Recorder & Registrar of Voters Juan Pablo Cervantes. "These stickers will represent our community's voice for the next two years. Every voter will see artwork with their vote-by-mail ballot that was created by a local artist and chosen by their neighbors. It's democracy in action at every level."
