On Feb. 2, 2023, at about 1:24 a.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies on patrol in the Fields Landing area conducted a suspicious vehicle investigation on a vehicle parked in a no parking zone at the Fields Landing Boat Ramp.
Deputies contacted two people associated with the vehicle, one of which was determined to be 34-year-old Katherine Erin Carlson. Carlson initially provided deputies with a false name. Upon correct identification, Carlson was found to have two felony warrants for her arrest. During a search of Carlson while being booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility, deputies located over 3 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Carlson was booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance (HS 11377(a)), possession of a controlled substance paraphernalia (HS 11364(a)), false identification to a peace officer (PC 148.9(a)), parole revocation (PC 3000.08(f)) and violation of probation.
The second occupant of the vehicle was released at the scene.
