Today, the Honorable Lawrence Killoran, sentenced 32-year-old Jesus LozaZamacona, to serve 6 years in prison for two felony crimes, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Felon in Possession of Ammunition, for which a Humboldt County jury convicted him last month.

In March of last year, Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputies Hal Esget and Jonathan Waxler conducted a parole search of LozaZamacona’s residence on Old Arcata Road wherein they discovered a loaded .38 revolver.  Subsequent investigation revealed LozaZamacona, a felon from Stockton, who was released on parole to Humboldt County after serving prison time for armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon, was armed at his local residence with the loaded .38 revolver shortly before the HCSO deputies arrived on scene.

Deputy District Attorney Ian Harris prosecuted the case with assistance of DA Investigators Chelsea Brawner, Marvin Kirkpatrick, and Richard Bise.   Local defense attorney Rebecca Linkous represented LozaZamacona.

District Attorney Stacey Eads thanks the jurors for their time and effort during the trial.
